Bunk Bed Project
Bunk Bed Project
Posted on 11/15/2019
In an effort to support the students in the Dan River region, the Dan River FFA (led by Ms. C. Kenealy and Mrs. W. Terry) is launching a community support project to build bunk beds for students in the area who do not have their own bed to sleep in. Their hope is to eliminate the need for any child in the area to have to sleep on the floor, a couch, or share a bed. Children should have their own bed, regardless of their family’s situation. These beds are being made by the Agriculture classes and FFA members at Dan River High School; however, support was needed from the local community in order to make the project a reality. Donations were taken to purchase and provide materials to build the beds, purchase the mattresses, and fund transportation for delivery.
The Dan River FFA thanks local businesses who contributed to their project through generous donations. The project could not have happened without the local support from the community.
